Bob O'Dell, Distinguished Research Scientist at Vanderbilt University, is a former NASA Project Scientist for the Hubble Space Telescope. His tenure included selling the idea to Congress and to the astronomical community (many of whom were skeptical), preliminary design for and construction ofthe telescope. In this talk Bob recounts his experiences in the early days of working on the Hubble Space Telescope.
