In this presentation Mike Comberiate will discuss NASA projects at the South and North Poles as well as how outreach programs can benefit from NASA know-how and inspire the public. He will also demonstrate one of the the latest models of planetary exploration robots designed and developed at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Mike is currently a Systems Manager at Goddard, where he has designed electronics for numerous satellite projects and has initiated over 100 special projects involving interagency cooperation to produce quick response results. He was the innovator and expediter of a unique outreach program, "You Be The Scientist", sponsored by NASA's EOS Aqua Project. He is currently involved with robotic testing of electronics, instruments, and software for use in planetary exploration, and since 1995 he has mentored over 270 students ranging from middle school through college.
